AND THE WINNER IS...

Margepoo!  Aside from having a really cool name, she also has great taste in music.  Her favorite Christmas son is "Oh Holy Night," which if I were voting would most likely be my choice as well.

Thank you so much everyone for entering.  I was feeling a bit bummed in the early going of the give away because I hadn't  received any comments.  Feeling quite sorry for myself, I did a little digging around and finally realized I had the comments on moderation.  There were over 50 comments just sitting there in cyberspace waiting for my approval ;-)  It's been great to watch the comments grow to 221 by the end of contest.

I appreciate all the new followers.  I adore the enthusiastic comments and helpful advice. I hope to come up with some content that will make you smile as I chronicle my way through sewing!

Give Away Now Closed

Thanks to all those who entered!  I'm totally floored with the number of responses.  The give away is now closed.  I will post the winner shortly.  Good luck to all!

I'm participating in my 1st ever Sew Mama Sew Give Away Day.  So exciting!!!

My contribution to the festivities is this beautiful handmade tote bag.  This bag is a large one.

It features the gorgeous Midwest Modern in pink fabric by Amy Butler.  The bottom portion and interior lining is a lightweight beige canvas.

There is one exterior pocket in the main fabric.  There are three interior canvas pockets.
The fully padded straps are long and measure approximately 28"

Charm Totes

I found a pattern for this huge tote bag/purse during the local quilt expo and thought it was just too cute.  The outside of the bag is made entirely from 5 inch charms squares.  I have to say, I looovvee working with these precut squares.  For the lazy crafter in me, they make life so much easier; and for the imperfect cutter that I am, they make squaring-up the sides so simple!

This bag is large and will hold a ton of stuff.  I've used mine to carry around a laptop, kids' toys, and library books (but not all at the same time!)  The inside features two HUGE pockets.  I make the straps extra long because that's the way I like it!  It's fully lined with fusible fleece for stability and softness.

Check out my Etsy site: BrowntownBags to see the others I have for sale.

Welcome Back

So, I try to call myself a blogger or something. By the looks of things, I haven't posted around these parts since the baby was 2. Hanging my head in shame, I admit that she's 4 now. Good news though, she's not sick anymore, as apparently she was in my last post! I do have another family blog that I've updated more recently (all right, the last post was Halloween) but I'm giving myself credit for something.

It's my all consuming, overpowering, love for Facebook that has taken my away from blogging. FB is my friend. We're in love. It's probably a one-side kind of love, but I'll take it. And since everyone who was reading my old blog is on FB, I just stopped updating.
So now I've dip my hand in the Twitter World but I don't know what to think of the whole scene. I'm trying to figure out what purpose it can serve in my life, but I'm not so sure what that will be yet. I feel like a crotchety old lady trying to figure out all this new fangled technology the youngens' are always talking about.
